Description
The act of stomping the sand to entice clams to show and give away their location to be dug up with either a clamming shovel or tube clam gun. Gathers must have a license and it must be an approved "dig" day as this was. Location of photograph was the Long Beach peninsula, extreme southwest corner of the state of Washington.

Claming is a great sport but I have yet to do any of it. :-) Awesome shot Pamela... FV

It can be really fun, it can be really wet and cold Nick :-) but if one loves to eat clams its always worth the effort.

I just realized where you are... I have a brother that lives in Ocean Park, WA. That's right near you, I believe. :)
